Abigail & Aaron's Vow Renewal

Abigail & Aaron hired me to come photograph their wedding vow renewal. They went all out for it, and it looked like it was their first wedding. Probably because, Abigail said that when they first got married the film was double exposed so they didn't have ANY photos from then.

They had a beautiful location in Fernandina on the water. Of course, being near the water means that the bugs were out in full force and Abigail was swatting bugs all down the aisle. And I completely forgot my bug spray!

Abigail is pregnant with their third child and her poor legs and fingers were swollen. I wanted to get some creative shots of their rings, but hers wouldn't budge, so I decided to try something a little different than normal for the ring shots.

I got a message on Myspace from the bride saying: "The pics on the site are gorgeous. I absolutely love them. Thank you so much."

I love this one.
They did their wedding at right before sunset, so by the time we made it out by the water, the sun was setting, so I went with it.

Marquita & David's Engagement Session

Marquita and her fiancee David came in last month and booked me for their Memorial Day wedding. I didn't pay attention to what day she was booking me for, as I usually roadtrip across America for Memorial Day weekend (to see American history and take in cute little towns with my girlfriends!).

So us girls are planning alternative dates for our travel plans (gotta have time with your girlfriends!) and I'll be shooting this cute couple's big day.

They booked their wedding, an engagement session and then they also decided to go ahead and do the trash the dress. David seemed to like the idea, which is typically unusual for the guys! Some brides buy a cheap or duplicate wedding dress and trash it before the big day or on their big day, but Marquita is going to go ahead and just trash hers after her wedding.

I'm not sure why they call it trashing it though--if you do it at the beach it's more like washing it! I have a dress in studio that is sometimes used for the sessions and you could NEVER tell it has been used in a trash the dress session.

So these are a couple of my favorites from Marquita & David's engagement session:

Hollywood Petey

I have been super busy lately.

I did this session Sunday with a guy called Hollywood Petey, he's a musician in Jacksonville. He saw my work on another musician's page, Shay Prince, whom I photographed before she went on tour with Lil Bow Wow. Last I heard she was on tour with Lil Wayne.

Hollywood is playing it smart. He wants to make it big in the industry and realized that one of the best ways to do that is to have professional photos. If you want to stand out and be taken seriously, everything you do as an artist needs to look the part and Hollywood called me to help make that happen.

I'm sure you'll see more of him, as he's already booked a second session. Plus, when you've got the drive and you do things right, you will go far--so I'm sure you'll be hearing more and more about him!

If you are a musician and need photos. I do both in studio (either mine or yours while you are recording) and in concert photos. I have a BS in Journalism and have worked in public relations as well. I have experience doing press releases and bios. I take public relations clients on a limited basis, contact me if you are interested!

This one is one of his favorites:
We used a pink background for these two. And then I played with the colors to give it a little more punch and alternative spin: [IMG]
I went a little moody with the light here. Just to give him something different. I LOVE the blue in this one: [IMG]
And two more...

One of my shoots yesterday was a quick shoot of a lady and her horse. We are supposed to get together soon and get some of her and her daughter running their horses.

I always wanted a horse as a kid, some people are lucky enough to have them!
Here is Jessie and her horse Cody:

Cute crochet hats!

I am really big on supporting small businesses and work at home moms. I've been that way long before I opened my own company. One of my favorite places to buy cool homemade stuff is Etsy.

I have also found a lot of cool stuff on the web. One of the most recent items I've gotten are these cute crochet hats. I am crafty (if you read the Times Union every year during Halloween, I create the last minute Halloween costumes) but I haven not been able to get past granny squares when it comes to crocheting.

Crochet *D* Lane has some of the cutest crochet items and she could probably make you custom stuff. Yesterday I saw that she had crochet shirt for little girls--way too cute. Here is her myspace page.

And this one is a new prop that I put little Thayer in. I sooo love this prop! If anyone is looking for a model, let me know, this little guy is perfect for print work and he just laughs when his momma is singing! Tooo CUTE!

On the radio: Gator Country

I recently did a photo shoot with Eden, Steve & Amadeus of Gator Country (They used to be on The Big Ape). Here are a couple of the photos.

They needed some new promo photos and it had been more than 10 years, I think they said, since they had them done.

The morning show has also been talking about me on the radio, so listen up for it!
Celebrity Style Makeup by Erica did the Eden's makeup. If you need bridal makeup or makeup for anything else, check her out!

I keep this alligator in studio, because I love alligators and they loved it for a prop!

In W. Philladelphia born and raised, on the playground is where I spent most of my days...

On the way home from the Poconos yesterday we decided to get a history lesson and stop in Philly. We went and saw the Liberty Bell and walked around the area and saw where the Declaration of Indepence and other historic papers that are the background of our society took shape.

This is the building where the original Liberty Bell hung and also where all those historic papers were debated and signed. I love this shot because the sun was coming up over the building and I just dealt with the rays and let them be there own art.
In the foreground I wanted to bring to focus the old brick along the walkway and the general scene. It was just nice. I love history, and it kind of reminded me of the roads of St. Augustine.
This is the original Liberty Bell, crack and all. A lot of people were photographing it from the other side so as not to get the sun in the background, but I loved the idea of the tower in the background where the bell was originally housed. (That's the actual building in the back, not a mural on the window.)
There was a fence around the building that houses the Liberty Bell and it had this great graphic design.
Down the road from the Liberty Bell was this interesting statue.

Today's Photos

Some sled dogs and their surroundings.

Rocks and ice.

I LOVE trees. My husband loves to call me a tree hugger, but what can I say, maybe it's the Indian blood. I saw this huge tree and the lonely, cold bench under it and took several photos of it.

And last, but not least, isn't this cute!

Brenda's Session

Brenda came in a couple of weeks ago. She wanted a sexy photo shoot to give to her boyfriend. I have been holding off from posting them because we were scared he would find them before she gave them to him.

I got this message from her yesterday:
Thanks so much for the pics! LOL Was too much fun! I'd do it every day if I could. AND of course I couldn't wait.. I gave them to him already!!! ; ) Think he liked them! Thanks again!

Here are a couple of pics from Brenda's session.

This is in front of our building, Brenda wanted to have a little fun with her trench coat.
That's right, the book's upside down!

This was one of her Halloween costumes, I pulled out a police mag I get (I do a lot of photographing police officers and get a lot of mags) and she used it as a prop.
There were tons more, but most aren't suitable for general posting!!!

Book you own session by emailing me at: Christy@freelance4hire.com or call 904-891-0359.
