Cameron & Chase

My friend Rachel had twin boys by C-section January 15th. I'm just now getting around to uploading some pics here. I think I may have already uploaded the first two.

One of the boys was in ICU for a couple of days, so the first photos are of Chase, who, while smaller than his brother, was overall fine.
Little wrinkly feet!

And our friend Lea having a look:

The first week she was home, Rachel couldn't drive so she asked me to take her to the hospital to see Cameron in the ICU. Had the nurse take this one of us:

Tiny premie fingers.

Rachel had initally planned on bringing the boys in for their first photos, as she hated the ones the hospital provided. But with having twin boys and little sleep, it was hard for her to come in. So I came to her, with my studio lights in tow.
Daddy had painted the boys' room a gorgeous blue and they had matching cribs with Pooh decor.

I had seen something like this next pic on the web before and thought it would be neat to do with the twins. This is a specialty color variation, mom also got to see the normal color and a B&W version.

Tina's Valentine's Gift

Tina came in before Valentine's Day to get some extra special photos done for her husband who is overseas at the moment. I love this idea and I think it's a great gift for any couple who are seperated by such a distance.

Christy of Bella La Vita Salon did Tina's hair, you can call her at: 292-4546.
Makeup Expressions by Staci did Tina's makeup, you can reach her at: 383-8090.
Tell them Christy referred you!
Tina has gorgeous blue eyes and the blue background really helped them pop. I'm posting the original and an infrared B&W just so you can see the difference.

This next one I did a specialty process to it. Kind of interesting.

Pricing changes

At the start of the new year I changed my pricing structure for weddings, and I've been meaning to do so for all my other packages. I have a photo seminar next week and then after that I will likely make the official changed announcement.

Family portrait pricing (modeling and boudoir as well) will be going up. I am a custom studio and each session is designed around you and the new packages are going to reflect that.

If you would like to lock in the current prices, you'll need to book a session and prepay for it, otherwise you'll be subject to the change. Thank you for your business.

Katelyn's Valentine's Day gift

Now that Valentine's Day is over I can start to post a couple of the images from those sessions.

Katelyn had these done for her man who is in the military.

The red satin is my new backdrop setup. I should be getting green and blue in soon.

He's a big football fan, so she bought him this jersey and we photographed her in it and she gave him the pictures with the jersey.

He's a sailor, can't you tell! This one has a specialty color filter on it that smooths and does an interesting twist to the color.

Hair was by Hair by Christy, of the Bella La Vita Salon. Makeup Expressions by Staci did makeup.

Don't forget

If you are one of my past brides and want the discounted price on your wedding photos (put on CD/DVD) then you have until Feb. 28th to pay in full to get them at that rate. After that date they go back to the current pricing.

Second: I've had several photo shoots lately and consultations. I've also taken in a family member to live with me temporarily while she deals with some stuff. So it's been hectic over here.

Third: Yes, I will post photos soon, lol! Now that Valentine's Day has passed, I'll try and get some of those photos up.

Bella La Vita Salon

Christy, from Bella La Vita Salon in Mandarin (yes she has the same name as me!), asked me to come do group photos of the stylists for an ad they have coming out soon, so I went by there Sunday.

Don't they look like a fun group of women? If you need your hair or nails done, they are located on San Jose, in the shopping mall behind the McDonalds at Loretto. Call 292-4546 to book.
They really wanted some B&W ones.

And a formal shot.

Full Moon

Beautiful full moon last night. Guess it's appropriate with the crazyness of the last couple of weeks. Hopefully, I'll post some more pics tommorow.

Right now I'm editing pics and I have this little girl (hopefully a girl!) in my jacket keeping her warm. Isn't she adorable! She hatched about 2pm today. Waiting for the other eggs to hatch so she'll have some friends.

Crazy day in the neighborhood

It was supposed to be a quiet day. We have our friend's daughter Calista staying the night and woke up and went to McDs for breakfast and then headed out to the Alpaca (like a sheep but with a long neck) show at Cecil Field. On the way out my husband asked if I had my cell I said no. He wanted to turn around and go get the phones and I said "no, it's Saturday, don't worry about it," and then I added, "watch the world will fall apart while we are gone."

So we came home about an hour ago and upon turning onto our road saw firetruck lights. Reassuringly there wasn't any smoke and the truck wasn't directly in front of our house.

We see a cop car at our neighbor's house, which isn't unusual and we stop and ask the lady on our road what's going on, since our driveway was blocked (she lives catty corner from us and her son lives next to our property). She says that a crazy lady was walking down the road the last couple of days and she ended up pulling a knife on a cop and they tazed her in our backyard.

So we pull the car into my inlaws driveway (who live next to us) and sure enough, there's 2 cop cars in the very back of our property and another cop car stuck in the soft mud right behind the house. I get out of the car, and start walking for the house when I hear an officer saying my name, it's my good friend BJ, whom I've known for almost 10 years. He managed to get his car stuck in my backyard. (Which was good, as it gave us a chance to catch up while waiting for the tow truck.)

Apparantally, a 27-year-old woman said our neighbor, her ex, was holding her hostage for a week and she called the cops to say she had no eyes and no brain. The 8-year-old girl, Calista, that we were watching asked us why she would say that. I asked her if she had the DARE program at school and then explained, THAT's why you don't do drugs, because you do crazy stuff like that.

You can see the crazy lady in the very back, sitting on the ground.

Yep, he's stuck, the front bumper was on the ground! LOL. He felt so bad, he offered to get the shovel and bury the hole.

After everything, I went into the house and there was a message on the phone from BJ saying "Christy, I know you think nothing happens in your neighborhood, but it does. We've got a crazy woman on the back of the property and I'm stuck in your yard. But your father in law and your dog are keeping me company." He finished by telling me he had hoped to knock on the door and ask for cookies. LOL.

(Edited to say, BJ didn't hear anything about her pulling a knife, only that she had one in her purse and that she wasn't tazed as far as he knows.)

DIY wedding crafts

I know a couple of my brides are looking at doing a lot of things on their own, check out this link for wedding crafts: http://www.craftbits.com/viewCategory.do?categoryID=WED

Is it Feb. already?

January has flown by. It's hard enough to believe it's 2009, but Feb?!

I have been bad and haven't updated my blog in a week and no new pics in awhile. I've had 5 sessions in the last week, plus working on newspaper stuff, so I've been keeping quite busy.

Valentine's Day is fast approaching and two of the sessions I can't really post until after that. One I may not post at all. I love boudoir sessions and I try to be VERY discreet about which photos are allowed to go online for all to see, but especially when it comes to teachers or government employees (police, fire, etc.) I try to watch what I put up. So, we'll see.

Let's start with the family session I did.

I am the eldest of 5 so dog piles were always a chance you took if you laid flat on the ground growing up. Had to edit out mommy's arm on this one as she was holding baby up there. (Vintage filter.)
Check out these sisters. How cute is that:

Mom wanted a photo of the baby with the sucker in her mouth, but the baby wasn't really game.

I've had these boas since before I opened the studio, but every once in awhile they come in handy!

First birthday photos. Oh so fun, oh so messy!

I just love this one. If this family buys an album, this would be perfect for the last page, baby just crawling off set, like "I'm done."
